Joe H. Overby

Joe H. Overby, a native of Murray, KY., is the current President of the foundation. He is a graduate of Murray State College (University) with a BS degree in Art Education and a MA and Rank I in Education and Educational Administration. He has been an Art Teacher in the Louisville City Schools and Daviess County Public Schools as well as an administrative supervisor and Assistant Superintendent in Daviess County. Joe has taught grades K-12 and at Brescia University. He was named Outstanding Young Educator by the Owensboro Jaycees and served as President of the Kentucky Art Education Association and was the Charter President of the Kentucky School Public Relations Association. Joe was involved with the implementation of the first Kentucky DARE program, Just Say No and Director of the Academy for Young Leaders in our local schools. He is a retired educator, past Executive Director of the United Way of the Ohio Valley and past Director of Organizational Development at Owensboro Health. Joe is a painter and photographer of landscapes and locations of interests and exhibits in local and area exhibits. His paintings and photos are in local commercial, public and private collections as well as the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, Murray State University, Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and the University of New Mexico’s Cancer Center.

Joe and his wife, Linda have four adult children and five lovely and above average grandchildren.
