David W. Tandy Dentons Bingham Greenebaum

David W. Tandy is an Owensboro native who lives in Louisville, Kentucky and is an attorney with Dentons Bingham Greenebaum where he practices with the firm’s Diversified Business Solutions Team and is a member of the Economic Development practice group.

Prior to joining Dentons David served his community as the Seventh and Tenth President of the Louisville Metro Council. During his more than 11-year career in local government, David served as the Chairman of the Labor and Economic Development Committee, helping guide Louisville’s multi-billion dollar economic growth during his tenure in public service. Nationally, David has been recognized for his collaborative leadership skills by being selected as a member of the Aspen Institute’s – Rodel Fellowship Class of 2009 and as a participant in the No Labels organization’s National Ideas Meeting.

Currently, David serves as General Counsel on the board for the Kentucky Science Center and Chairman of the Legal Committee for the Boy Scouts of America’s Lincoln Heritage Council. Additionally, he is a member of the Greater Louisville YMCA, Owensboro Public Schools Foundation and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center Regional Boards. David received his Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University and his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. David is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Keystone Lodge No. 3 F&AM PHA.

David is happily married to Carolyn Whitaker-Tandy, who serves as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion for Humana. The Tandy’s are the proud parents of three children, daughters – Kennedy and Avery and a son, Solomon. The Tandy’s attend St. Stephen Baptist Church.
